See you in Heaven Dad

The Trial started yesterday and ended today.  I was unable to attend yesterday, but did have the honor of representing my father today with my family.  Tomorrow we should hear the verdict.  It will be one of three choices...

1. Guilty of DUI Manslaughter
2. Guilty of DUI
3. Not Guilty

I think I know what it will turn out to be.  I hope justice is served.  All of us, but mostly mom NEEDS this part to be over.  not so we ca forget about it, but so we can remember dad and all the happy times, without this case looming over our heads.  I think we will all gain a sense of peace.

Thank you to all my friends who supported me and my family over the past 2 very rough years!!  We couldn't have made it without year. 

Well no matter what tomorrow brings, no matter how much justice is or isn't served, no matter how much peace we feel or don't feel, I will STILL not be able to hug my Daddy!  I will remember this one last hug for as long as I live!  I love you Dad!!!

We had a great day at Mom's today.  Wish I brought my camera and got pics of all the kids playing together!!

We were all there - Jenny, Dave, Jordan, Steve, Maggie, Kenny, Yvette, Mamie, Andrew, Ella, Mom, Emily, Garrett and I!!!!!

What a good day - I did get a few pics on my phone, and stole one of David's from Facebook!

Here's a good thing to think of before Valentine's Day.......

According to Dr. Gary Chapman in The Five Love Languages there are five different ways that we all like to be loved. The five categories are:

1. touch
2. quality time
3. gifts
4. service
5. affirmations

So, what category does "Doing the Super Bowl Dishes before you go golfing all day"  fall into...... just wondering??

I'm just being a little sarcastic, did you notice???

Anyway, I have heard that The Five Love Languages is a very good book.  I think I should give it a look over and maybe it would help me understand myself and my own needs, as well as the needs of those I love.  I also hope that it will help me be able to communicate my needs a little better so I don't get disappointed when they are not met.

Black Bean Soup and Rice

I am trying to have more home-cooked meals for me and the kids.  I feel that maybe...... if I keep track of some of the yummy things make (or in this case, heat up) it will keep me going.  We will see.  I didn't do so good with the 156 and counting thing, so I figure maybe I will take it in a whole new direction.....LOL.  Any way, here is what we had tonight.  By the way it is 171 now - no kidding, 171........

Progresso Black Beans and Jalapenos with rice, served with shredded cheese and sour cream..... as you can see, the cour cream is not photoed!

It was just me and Emily tonight and we both liked it!  We will have to do it again some time!
