Thank you dad.  I recently had to make a very hard decision.  I keep these words close to my heart, they really came in handy this time!  It was a hard thing to do, but I know I did the right thing for my family!  XOXO Miss you Dad.  Thank you for watching out for me!

RNC-OB (I still got it!)

I may not currently be a practicing OB nurse, but that doesn't mean I am not going to keep my certifications up to date!!  I just maintained my Inpatient OB certification!  Next year I do the EFM.

Doing this made me realize that I really do love nursing and I WILL be at the bedside again in the future!!!

Time to Whine a Little

Just curious................ Can one job really take up this much time???  I feel like I spend more time doing paper work than I do teaching.  I know I don't, but I thought my time off would be "time off", at least some of it any way.  Memos, Probation letters, Cumulative notes, Holy-Moly it's a lot.  I didn't even get a chance to look at the student's documentation tonight!
This is how I feel at the end of the day!!!  I just wanna whine and cry!

Head-to-toe

So, tomorrow I will be checking my students off on doing a "Head-to-toe" assessment.
I am so proud of them all!!
We have been practicing now for a couple of weeks and they have come so far!!!

Here are a few pictures I took at school...... You knew I would take pictures....RIGHT!!

I don't know the rules about posting pics of students, but they all told me it was OK, and I won't add their names.  (Aren't they cute though.....)

This is my morning class (minus one student who was absent that day.)

Teamwork!

What I Do!

Preparing the future nurses...
That's "What I Do"!
I am very challenged by my new job, but at the same time I feel it is very rewarding!
I am really getting attached to my students and enjoy seeing them on a daily basis!
Tomorrow is review day for the "Physical Assessment" Exam!

A New Job!

My New Place of Employment - SCTI
I got a new job!!  WOOO HOOOO! I am excited.  I will be a High School Practical Nursing Instructor at Sarasota County Technical Institute.  Growing up, I wanted to be one of two things, a nurse or a teacher...  Now I get to be BOTH!  I spent the morning observing today, but will officially take over my class on 12/5/11.  I am really looking forward to it!

This meant so much to me!!!!!!

Jenny Waring
My sister dedicated 10 years to a job, Working 6:00pm - 6:00am. She missed a lot at home, but was dedicated to her noble profession! In a time of great family need, the hospital refused to work with her, even on a temporary basis, to make it possible for her to care for things at home... It saddens me to see her give up something she loves so much... But I'm proud of her decision!
